holy bubbles batman!
After a long day of quad riding and sledding the kids decided that they wanted to take a bath in Grandma Stone's jetted bathtub because they heard that it makes REALLY good bubbles. They ended up playing (i mean getting clean...) for over an hour. They giggled and laughed and made bubble beards till they were all pruney.Tuesday, January 20, 2009
frontyard fun
On Martin Luther King day there was no school and so all of the stones got together in my parents front yard and rode quads, golf carts, motorcycles, ... and a sled. Uncle Jeff hooked a strap to the back of a quad and attached the other end to a sled and the kids spent hours and hours taking turns pulling the sled and being pulled. The little kids got pulled slow and easy, the older kids got pulled faster and got whipped around and would do "rollie-pollie-ollies" as they flew off the sled (it looked remarkably similar to someone being pulled on a tube behind a boat) All of the kids had a blast!

Lake Tahoe
Over the weekend we went to Tahoe with some family and friends. We had such a good time! The kids played outside for hours and hours playing in the snow and sliding down the hill right next to the house

We had a wonderful new years. Both kids had friends over to spend the night. We went to my parents house for our traditional wicked yummy fondue dinner, then went home and watched movies till the kids passed out on the couch. On New Years Day we went quadding on my parents property and sat around a campfire in their front yard. It was a perfect start to a new year. We hope your celebrations were as fun as ours!

Calin's 5th Birthday Party
Calin wanted the theme for his birthday party to be "Play-doh". I was nervous about that- I mean who has ever heard of a Play-doh party before? The invitations were cute and were attached to a little personal sized playdoh container, and they invited the whole family to come. (we ended up with 35 people at the party!) A week before the party the kids and I made something like 20 batches of playdoh (made with kool-aid for color and to make it smell good, and we mixed massive amounts of glitter in them to make them special) We had playdoh up the wahzoo!!!! Ash and CJ loved helping make the playdoh- it is a surprisingly messy thing to do. We made enough for the kids and the adults to play with. And the adults had just as much fun as the kids did! When the kids -and adults- made something "so special- they wanted to keep it forever" they got placed on a drying rack to dry and later get a clear coat. It was the funnest party ever!
CJ & Kat It was a wonderful party with many people who love him there: all the Stones, Brian's Family, G&G Smith, Mike and Kristine, Dave, and friends galore! The party was so much fun that most people stayed more than an hour after the party ended sitting at the table talking, the adults making a game out of a box of eating See's candy, and playing with some of CJ's new toys. It was the best birthday party ever!
