Boy Scout CJ

Aunt Alisa finally talked us into joining the boy scouts. CJ is now a member of Pack 10. He loves his uniform and is proud of the belt "slidey-thing" that he has already earned. Thank you Alisa for the hand-me-down belt, hat, scarf, scarf holdy-thingie, and sewing on all the patches on for us. You rock!

Halloween

The kids had fun showing off their Halloween costumes during the school Halloween parade. Parents, Aunts & Uncles, and even Grandparents came to watch and cheer them on! They looked fantastic!
Ashley is a "Sand-Witch" and CJ is "Mario" from the Mario brothers video game

Ashley looks great in her costume!

CJ found a "Luigi" to take a picture with
And you cant leave the dogs out of the Halloween fun... Roxie has a butterfly costume. You cant tell from this picture but she didn't mind wearing it at all- she never even scratched at it or anything. Chu-wee (not pictured) was a hot dog.

CJ's the Star Student

This week in class CJ is the Star Student. Here is the poster we made for him

Ashley's Sand-Witch Costume

While at Pismo Beach Ashley came up with an idea for her Halloween Costume. She decided she wanted to be a "Sand-Witch". She said she wanted to be a witch that has sand on her costume. So we packed up some sand and shells to take home to create her costume.
Her velvet witch hat has waves of sand, a sand dollar, and a clam shell with a pearl inside
Necklace and 2 bracelets. Bracelets will go over orange fish-net gloves
The witch dress has sand waves and swirls
Black sparkle shoes with sand waves, silk bows and shells

Witch broom with shiny "bristles", silk bow and shell
Candy bucket with sand, silk bow, clam shell with pearl

It rook 1 bag of sand & shells, 1 whole tube of glue, and 2 days putting together this costume and i think it turned out fantastic! I can't wait to see Ashley in it on Halloween.

Funny Veggies

Most of the produce from our garden looks like it came from the store, but we get a few that are very interesting...
These carrots look like they are best buds hugging.

This beet looks like a giant red tooth

Pismo_Quadding

Pismo is "Mo Fun!
The quads and RZR seemed like they were out in the dunes 24 hours a day! The (Jeff) Stones were always willing to take anybody out for a ride.
CJ had a blast riding on the beach and "baby dunes" with McKenzie

Ashley got to go out with the (Jeff) Stone's Foreign Exchange Student Nadine.

CJ got to go on a ride with Gpa Stone on his awesome 2 seater quad.

CJ looks so little sitting on the quad alone waiting for Gpa Stone to get his helmet on.

Pismo_Roxy

Before we left for Pismo Roxy "got her hair done" for the trip. We chose purple this time. She is such a good girl. As always she sat patiently in the bathtub while the color was shampooed in and rinsed out. On the way to Pismo she got stopped at a rest stop by a bunch of college boys in a bus to have Roxy take pictures with them and again on the 1st day at pismo while walking on the beach some tourists stopped to take a picture with her. Later on in the week while walking on the beach there was a caravan of Hummers that take people on a ride in the dunes and we heard over the loud speaker "It's a purple dog!" and everyone in the cars turned to look at her. It was funny.

Roxie has a new best friend, Bailey. She would smell her out when she was came into our trailer and sit at her feet and look adorable till Bailey picked her up and gave her cuddles. She has Bailey wrapped around her little paw!

Roxie is a little blind and a little def but generally does pretty well. The first day she took a header out of the trailer door while trying to get outside, luckily i was able to catch her before she hit anything. I figured she understood that that was a no-no because she didn't do it again... at least for another few days. She did it again (at 4:45pm of course) and hit the metal stairs on the way down and her nail got stuck in the step and she got hurt. It was bleeding so we tried to rinse the sand out and noticed she was more hurt than we thought and so we had to hustle to find a vet in town that was going to stay open enough for us to get to. We finally found one and jetted into town. They fixed her up and gauzed her and wrapped a cute pink cast-type thing on her and told us to keep her foot out of the sand. RIGHT! THAT'S TOTALLY POSSIBLE!.. considering we are sleeping on the beach. We ended up placing her foot in a zip lock every time we took her out to go potty.

Pismo_Sleeping

The kids played so hard and long every day that when they fell into bed at night they passed out immediately and were dead to the world.

CJ used a glow in the dark bracelet as a night light. He slept so hard and didn't move at all and the glow stick was still in his hand the next morning.

Tonight CJ didn't even make it to bed before he passed out. I had to carry him there from the car and lay him down so i could get him into his pajamas. He slept through the whole thing.

Pismo_Chocolate Malted Crunch

Grandpa Stone while in town found a RiteAid that sold Thrifty's Ice cream and came home with a family favorite Chocolate Malted Crunch and ice cream cones. After everybody got a cone (and yes CJ ate one too) CJ grabbed a spoon and ate the rest of the ice cream right out of the box!

Pismo_Candy Corn Monsters

I bought a trail mix bag called "Monster Mix" that had candy corn in it and in no time at all the kids were turning themselves into candy corn vampires. Even Grandma Stone got in on the fun!

Ash got even trickier and turned herself into a candy corn werewolf.

Pismo_Icecream Lab

We discovered an ice cream shoppe called "Doc Burnstein's Ice Cream Lab"
It was wicked expensive +$3 a scoop! but the kids enjoyed the show and got to help name a new ice cream "Tasty Squirrels". It was root beer flavor with cookie dough, chocolate covered pretzels, and mini M&M's.
CJ chose bubblegum ice cream, and then saved all the gum so we could go to bubblegum alley.

Pismo_Silly Hair Day

We were getting ready to head into town to go to Splash for dinner and the kids all decided today was "Silly Hair Day". So they all did their hair the same (even Kade!) They are all so silly!
Here they are at the pier after dinner... still being silly

Pismo_Splash

You cant go to Pismo without eating at Splash! The kids love looking at all the paintings of the clams on the walls and measuring up against this ruler.

Ash got the calamari and fries... and LOVED it!

CJ's not as daring with his taste buds and got chicken strips and discovered that curly fries are more fun to play with than they are to eat... he probably only ate 3 but he played with them all!

Pismo_Sunset at the Pier

After dinner at Splash we walked over to see the beautiful sunset off the pier.

Pismo_Grandma's kids

Grandma Stone wanted a picture of her and all her Grandkids on the trampoline that the Henry Family brought. L to R: Kade Henry, McKenzie Stone, Nadine "Stone" (foreign exchange student), Lexi Henry, Grandma Vicki Stone, Bailey Stone, Addy Stone, Ashley Tunquist, Calin Tunquist, Aidan Stone.
* grandma bribed them all with candy necklaces to sit still for the pic. she's wicked smart!*

Pismo_Bubblegum Alley

In the city of San Louis Obispo there is a place called Bubblegum Alley where there are millions of pieces of gum on the wall in the tiny alley. Ash & CJ were told about it on the first day of Pismo and every day they asked if they could go and so we did. Both kids found it shocking that mom said it was okay to put gum on the wall. That night when Ash called her dad she decided she wanted to play a trick on him and said "Mom let me put my gum on a wall!" it was followed by a long silence while her dad was trying to figure out the right response. Ash thought it was hilarious! eww... gross... don't touch the wall!

Ash getting her piece of gum ready
CJ saved all his gum from his bubblegum ice cream so he could use it here.
They took a lot of time to find the perfect spot for their gum...

People spelled names and made pictures with their gum. Ash liked this peace sign
