So an order to target.com + 4 hours of building cabinets (and 2 band aids...i'll admit i stabbed myself a couple of times with the screwdriver- those things are sharp!) And a lot of organizing and throwing stuff away and this is what i got...- - - The next project: Refinish an old coffee table i found in the warehouse - - -
While helping (mostly just watching the boys do the heavy lifting) clean out the warehouse i found this coffee table. I thought the design on the drawer was cool so i decided to try and fix it up.
Before
After a trip to Lowe's (those people rock! they totally told me how to tile from start to finish, and showed me exactly what i needed to buy!) and a 30 minute negotiation with the kids about which tiles we wanted we came home with a plan on how to refinish the table. I got to work (with Beth offering lots of emotional support) and i Tiled A Table!!!! i rock! After

It was so easy! it was 85 percent worry and 15 percent work. The tile looks really cool and all that is left to do is place another coat of sealant to the wood. (plus, i learned how to do it better the next time)
2 projects down and like 50 to go! woo hoo! we already have the garden prepping for this years fruits and veggies (we purchased an apple tree that has 4 different kinds of apples grafted on it, a pear tree with 4 types of pears, and a blood orange tree), and seeds starting to sprout in the greenhouse on the front porch. Exciting! we will be refinishing the kitchen table, painting the cupboards, painting the bathrooms, and installing an awesome vinyl sign that says "Tunquist Family" (thanks to Walapaloo.com! -my sister Angel's vinyl cutting business). I am so excited.
