Boy Scout CJ

Aunt Alisa finally talked us into joining the boy scouts. CJ is now a member of Pack 10. He loves his uniform and is proud of the belt "slidey-thing" that he has already earned. Thank you Alisa for the hand-me-down belt, hat, scarf, scarf holdy-thingie, and sewing on all the patches on for us. You rock!

Halloween

The kids had fun showing off their Halloween costumes during the school Halloween parade. Parents, Aunts & Uncles, and even Grandparents came to watch and cheer them on! They looked fantastic!
Ashley is a "Sand-Witch" and CJ is "Mario" from the Mario brothers video game

Ashley looks great in her costume!

CJ found a "Luigi" to take a picture with
And you cant leave the dogs out of the Halloween fun... Roxie has a butterfly costume. You cant tell from this picture but she didn't mind wearing it at all- she never even scratched at it or anything. Chu-wee (not pictured) was a hot dog.

CJ's the Star Student

This week in class CJ is the Star Student. Here is the poster we made for him

Ashley's Sand-Witch Costume

While at Pismo Beach Ashley came up with an idea for her Halloween Costume. She decided she wanted to be a "Sand-Witch". She said she wanted to be a witch that has sand on her costume. So we packed up some sand and shells to take home to create her costume.
Her velvet witch hat has waves of sand, a sand dollar, and a clam shell with a pearl inside
Necklace and 2 bracelets. Bracelets will go over orange fish-net gloves
The witch dress has sand waves and swirls
Black sparkle shoes with sand waves, silk bows and shells

Witch broom with shiny "bristles", silk bow and shell
Candy bucket with sand, silk bow, clam shell with pearl

It rook 1 bag of sand & shells, 1 whole tube of glue, and 2 days putting together this costume and i think it turned out fantastic! I can't wait to see Ashley in it on Halloween.

Funny Veggies

Most of the produce from our garden looks like it came from the store, but we get a few that are very interesting...
These carrots look like they are best buds hugging.

This beet looks like a giant red tooth

Pismo_Quadding

Pismo is "Mo Fun!
The quads and RZR seemed like they were out in the dunes 24 hours a day! The (Jeff) Stones were always willing to take anybody out for a ride.
CJ had a blast riding on the beach and "baby dunes" with McKenzie

Ashley got to go out with the (Jeff) Stone's Foreign Exchange Student Nadine.

CJ got to go on a ride with Gpa Stone on his awesome 2 seater quad.

CJ looks so little sitting on the quad alone waiting for Gpa Stone to get his helmet on.

Pismo_Roxy

Before we left for Pismo Roxy "got her hair done" for the trip. We chose purple this time. She is such a good girl. As always she sat patiently in the bathtub while the color was shampooed in and rinsed out. On the way to Pismo she got stopped at a rest stop by a bunch of college boys in a bus to have Roxy take pictures with them and again on the 1st day at pismo while walking on the beach some tourists stopped to take a picture with her. Later on in the week while walking on the beach there was a caravan of Hummers that take people on a ride in the dunes and we heard over the loud speaker "It's a purple dog!" and everyone in the cars turned to look at her. It was funny.

Roxie has a new best friend, Bailey. She would smell her out when she was came into our trailer and sit at her feet and look adorable till Bailey picked her up and gave her cuddles. She has Bailey wrapped around her little paw!

Roxie is a little blind and a little def but generally does pretty well. The first day she took a header out of the trailer door while trying to get outside, luckily i was able to catch her before she hit anything. I figured she understood that that was a no-no because she didn't do it again... at least for another few days. She did it again (at 4:45pm of course) and hit the metal stairs on the way down and her nail got stuck in the step and she got hurt. It was bleeding so we tried to rinse the sand out and noticed she was more hurt than we thought and so we had to hustle to find a vet in town that was going to stay open enough for us to get to. We finally found one and jetted into town. They fixed her up and gauzed her and wrapped a cute pink cast-type thing on her and told us to keep her foot out of the sand. RIGHT! THAT'S TOTALLY POSSIBLE!.. considering we are sleeping on the beach. We ended up placing her foot in a zip lock every time we took her out to go potty.
