Tahoe Trip Nov 2011

Tahoe trips are one of our family's favorite things! We pack snow clothes, pajamas, food, crafts and we are set for a week of fun!

We are already counting down the days till our next trip!

All Things CJ

On our way home from school CJ gets his reading homework done in the car so he can play sooner. Its a perfect time to read- there is nothing to distract him, and he has my  undivided attention (almost- gotta pay attention to the driving). Today he started "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"

When I was little my dad used to say to us "You make a better door than a window" we'd huff and then get out of the way of the t.v.  I guess im an adult now cause today I said it to CJ. I was minding my own buisness laying in bed watching "Big Bang Theory" and CJ walked in and sat right in front of the tv!

For class CJ had to make an organic turkey, he used leaves and sticks from his dads house and seeds (from my dad's squirrel traps) to make this beauty. Good job CJ!

Jared Berry Is The BEST!

If you ask my kids what 2 animals are the most ANNOYING in the world without a doubt they would say Squirrels and Rabbits! They eat the food out of the garden and cause so much damage, plus the squirrels start "chirping" at the crack of dawn and continue for hours and hours! Uncle Jared came and made us so happy, he would spend hours patiently hunting the little buggers!
Unfortunately he left to go home and then for the next week the squirrels and rabbits sat in our garden and just looked at us saying "whattcha goin to do about it.... Jared's gone!"  little punks!

Halloween 2011

Ashley chose to be a "sand-witch" again. She looked "hauntingly" beautiful!

CJ wanted to be Mario again

maybe next year we can talk them into new costumes

Stone Family Tradition: riding the hay bale trailer around neighborhoods to collect candy.
(this tradition started back when my siblings and myself were little and there were NO houses nearby to trick-or-treat at so my dad hooked up the hay trailer to a tractor (or truck) and drove us to the closest neighborhood to trick-or-treat to our hearts content. After we were all tuckered out we would climb back on and we would ride home. The trailer also has the added benefit of acting like a "parade float" and people cheer and wave at us -and us at them- and it feels like a party!)  As traditions do, it has gotten bigger and better. We now hook up a generator to the trailer for Halloween lights, smoke machine, and cd player playing "Elvira's haunted hits".

Im ready, lets go!   -CJ

You cant go home before you spread all your candy on the floor and do a "candy swap" with all of the cousins! (what better time to get rid of all those pesky almond joy bars and get butterfingers instead!)

Getting Measured on G&G Smith's Door

You cant stop by great G&G Smith's house without getting measured on the door, the kids love looking to see how big they are compared to how big dad was at their age!

My bday lunch motorcycle ride

For our birthdays my siblings, spouses, and parents do not exchange presents instead we all get together and go to lunch. For my birthday this year i chose that we all ride our motorcycles to Chilis in Lodi.  We all met at Jeff's house and took off from there.

yep, im in a biker gang!  ;-)

our family tends to "take over" where ever we go... and that includes parking lots!
